NEW! First Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Knee Replacement in the area!

Dr. Clayton Thor, is the first in the area to offer patients a new, innovative option for partial and total knee replacements using the Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgical System.

  • -Precise Bone Cuts
  • -Perfectly Balanced Knee
  • -Faster recovery
  • -Personalized Plan
  • -First in the Area

Using a 3D virtual model, allowing Dr. Thor to create each patient’s surgical plan pre-operatively before entering the operating room. This guidance helps the patient to recover quickly because it spares the muscles and limits tissue damage. It ensures that the surgeon does not cut outside of the pre-defined area.

NEW Direct Superior Approach

Dr. Thor performs the Direct Superior Approach for hip replacements. Below are some of the benefits of the procedure

  • -Minimally invasive
  • -Muscle sparing
  • -Minimizes damage to soft tissues
  • -Avoids cutting crucial muscle groups, such as the iliotibial band and external rotators
  • -Spares the IT band

–The IT Band is the large muscle that extends down the outside of your leg from the pelvis to the knee. This is used in walking and bending as well as other daily activities

Direct Superior Approach typically is a 3-6 inch incision rather than the 10-12 inch incisions of traditional hip replacements.
