Total Joint Success Stories

Don Friedrichsen - Council Bluffs, Iowa
“I’ve had two total hip replacements; the first
was moderately painful, the second was ‘a piece of cake’ due to advanced methods in the surgery. l have easier mobility, no pain interrupting my sleep, and a general overall good feeling. I even mowed the lawn three weeks after surgery,” said Don.

Carol Buckley - Omaha, Nebraska
“I can live my life without pain now. I can shop, go to the zoo, travel, play with my grandchildren, and do about anything I want to since my total knee replacement. I waited a long time because I was afraid of the surgery. Total knee replacement wasn't as bad as I anticipated and I am now pain free; what a blessing!” said Carol.

Chuck Settlemyer - Council Bluffs, Iowa
“Since I had my ankle replacement last October, I no longer have pain in my right ankle. The pain had been severe for years and felt like I was walking on a sponge. It no longer keeps me awake at night and I can move it up and down. I am looking forward to dancing again which I haven’t done for many years now because of my pain,” said Chuck.

Dorothy Tews - Honey Creek, Iowa
“I enjoy walking and exercising at the Council Bluffs Senior Center and have resumed that since my total knee replacement surgery. I have no pain in that knee and am able to walk freely; it feels like my own knee used to. If you’re contemplating surgery, I’d say go for it! It will give you a new lease on life, get rid of your pain, and help you to be more active. I highly recommend Miller Orthopaedic's surgical team; you receive great surgery, care and therapy!” explained Dorothy.

Gill Boykin - Papillion, Nebraska
“I’ve been able to resume activities that I could not do prior to surgery due to loss of cartilage in my knee joints. I now participate in recreational activities, work, and do home repairs with no pain. I also have the knee movement and flexibility I had prior to the total loss of knee joint cartilage. If you’re contemplating surgery, you should research the working and longevity of the replacement prosthesis. Miller Orthopaedic uses some of the most innovative products and they are 'team centered' on patient care and welfare,” said Gill.
