Our practice has been offering quality healthcare to people of all ages throughout southwest Iowa and the Council Bluffs/Omaha metropolitan area since 1972. Today we are clearly one of the leading orthopaedic practices in the Midwest. Our joint replacement program has received a five-star rating at both hospitals in Council Bluffs from Healthgrades, an agency that ranks hospitals nationally on various procedures. Council Bluffs has the only hospitals in the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metropolitan area to receive a five-star rating in both hip and knee replacement surgery.

Although now retired, Dr. Miller, founder of Miller Orthopaedic, was a co-developer with DePuy/Johnson & Johnson of the P.F.C. Sigma R.P. Mobile Bearing Knee. This prosthesis was FDA approved in September 2001 and can be used for younger, heavier or more active patients. The low friction between the knee components has greatly reduced the wear of this joint replacement component. It remains at the forefront of other joint replacements for producing the best outcomes for our patients.  By utilizing new surgical techniques and improved implants and hardware we continue to provide optimum outcomes for our patients.

Dr. C. Kent Boese

was the first in Iowa and Nebraska to perform mini incision hip replacement surgery.  He was one of the few surgeons in the United States who taught the procedure to other surgeons both nationally and internationally on behalf of DePuy/Johnson & Johnson. In addition, Dr. Boese was on DePuy’s "International Project" Team to design a hip replacement specifically for the mini incision technique.  Dr. Boese completed certification in January 2008 on the Partial Knee Replacement procedure. This procedure allows patients with limited arthritis damage to one side of the knee to have this side replaced. This procedure removes 75% less bone cartilage, is less painful, and allows for more rapid recovery than a total knee replacement.

Dr. Roy Abraham

is a dual fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon in both total joint and sports medicine.  He has many years of experience in total joint replacement. In addition to his experience in hip, knee and shoulder replacement, Dr. Abraham has great success with the Biomet Partial Knee Replacement and has implanted hundreds of these in his career both in the United States and England.

Dr. Inderjit Panesar

is a surgically trained podiatrist.  He was one of the first in the area to offer total toe replacement for arthritis. Dr. Panesar was also one of the first in the area to do Endoscopic Fasciotomy for chronic heel pain. Other areas of expertise include joint resurfacing of the foot and flat foot surgery for patients of all ages.

Theresa Gallo, PA-C, MPAS

is an orthopaedic trained certified physician assistant.  She works closely with Dr. Boese and his joint replacement program. Theresa holds certification as an orthopaedic physician assistant. Prior to becoming a physician assistant, she worked as a registered nurse. She is a tremendous asset to Miller Orthopaedic’s Joint Replacement Team.  As a member of the Army National Guard, she has served her country overseas as a physician assistant.
